I've had my share of life's ups and downs God's been good to me, and the downs have been few I would guess you can say, God has blessed me But there's never been a time in my life, he didn't bring me through. If anyone should ever write, my life story. For whatever reason there might be.He'd be there, between each line of pain and glory. Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to me!!

Are you a mover and shaker or is it easy for you to keep making excuses and proscrastinate? Start now don't wait til ANOTHER new years comes and goes. Be like Nike and just do it people!

What have you done or are you going to do with your gift God has given you? Are you hiding it from the world or are you sharing your gift? Are you scared to share it because of the "player haters"? 2 Timothy 1 tells us to "stir up our gifts" and not to be "fearful". So share your gift and don't worry about the haters! - This has been a Chef Kahlil Appetizer for your mind moment.

We have a great topic for tonight's radio show: Are you compromising your values to be with someone who doesn't share your same values?Please tune in tonight at 7:30 PM EST to the Chef Kahlil Appetizer For Your Mind Talk Show the Call-in Number: (646) 929-2338

Saturday, November 7, 2009

One of the responses to our topic was dismissing the toxic person is like weight loss. My response was sometimes weight loss is good. This principle is biblical "be ye not unequally yoked". In those days the yoke or wooden collar would be placed around the necks of two "equally" sized oxen so that they could pull the load "equally" and "smoothly". But, if you tried to pair an oxen and donkey, two obviously different and unequally sized mammals. You have created the situation of being "unequally" yoked. Why? I am glad you asked, obviously because of their differences of strengths, vision, size and strides to move ahead the "yoke" will weigh heavily on one animal while choking the other. In other words it will painfully drag the other along by the neck! So, in essence lose the donkey aka the jack a** or as you so eloquently put it the unwanted weight.
Please visit my page to join in on the topic Are you compromising your values to be with someone who doesn't share your same values? I will repost my comments to some of the participants in a minute.
Are you compromising your values to be with someone who doesn't share your same values? Don't allow emotion or passion bind you with someone who does not meet YOUR values. You need to disconnect from this type of toxic relationship before it cause heart ache or worse yet heart break. -This has been a Chef Kahlil appetizer for your mind moment!

Forgiveness is they way of love. When people have been hurt they have the option of justice or forgiveness. Let's try not and mess up every new day with previous days failures. In doing so, we pollute a potentially wonderful day. We can chose to live today free from the failures of yesterday. Forgiveness is not a feeling it is a commitment!

Chef Kahlil's Famous Fried Chicken Recipe

I had a friend of mine ask me to share my fried chicken recipe, by special request. So, with a little twisting of my arm here is a bangin' fried chicken recipe that I will guarantee will have all your friends & family doing back flips! So for all you chicken lovers out fire up your frying pans and give this recipe a try. Let me know what you think. If you have any favorite dishes you want me to post a recipe on please feel free to drop me a line.

Chef Kahlil's Famous Fried Chicken

Makes about 8 servings

5lb bag of party wings or whole chicken quartered

2 1/4 Each Eggs

4 1/2 Cups Vegetable Shortening or Canola Oil

2 1/4 Cups Sifted Flour

3/4 Tablespoon Paprika

1 1/2 Tablespoons Garlic Salt

1 1/2 Teaspoons Onion Salt

3/4 Teaspoon Dried Oregano

3/4 Teaspoon Dried Rubbed Sage

3/8 Teaspoon Dried Powdered Rosemary

3/8 Teaspoon Dried Powdered Thyme

3/4 Teaspoon Dried Parsley

3/4 Teaspoon Adobo

3/4 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper

                    4 1/2 Cups Milk

1. Thoroughly wash the party pieces and reserve on cheese cloth to dry.

2. Prepare a breading station by combining dry spices and herbs in a small bowl and reserve.

3. In a separate bowl combine the two eggs with the milk and wisk, reserve. This recipe requires that you dip the chicken in the flour twice. First dip the chicken in the milk and egg mixture and then into the flour. Repeat, then reserve the chicken.

4. Using a large cast iron pan with high sides that is suitable for frying, (You may also use a small deep fat fryer, like a Fry Daddy) fill the pan until it is almost half filled with the Vegetable shortening or if you aren't allergic peanut oil.

 5. Heat the pan over medium high while your coating the chicken. If you are using a fry daddy or tabletop fryer temperature on fryer should be turned on to 360 degrees. Place 6 - 10 pieces of the party wings into the pan and let them cook for 5 to 7minutes, flip the chicken over and cook another 4 - 7 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Remove the chicken and enjoy! Please post feedback pictures or video on my youtube page http://www.youtube.com/wychexkg

Motivational Quote & Scripture of the day

As you all know I like to share nuggets of wisdom with everyone in my inner circle of friends & family as well as share a good word from the Basic Instructions Before Leave Earth aka BIBLE. Today I am going to share a quote from one of my favorite scriptures as well as one of my favorite motivational speakers Willie Jolley. I hope this will bless you or someone you share this with today. I also challenge every reader reading this to continue to keep the bar raised, keep your vision clear reach your goals and continue to soar with the Eagles. This is the year of breakouts and breakthroughs, this is the year to overcome your biggest obstacle from stopping you from reaching your goals & aspirations - YOU! Sometimes you have to deprogram to reprogram. When I say this I am simply stating get rid of the brain rot (negative things that are in our minds). Be blunt with yourself and ask yourself what or who do I need to prune or deprogram in my life. Then ask what needs to be programmed in my life (The Word of God, positive influences, sometimes a new season of friends/associates) The success of life comes from success in the mind. If you want to go higher in life expand your mind (John 3). Sometimes you have to encourage yourself when no one else will encourage you to reach the maximum heights that the Lord has in store for you. Sometimes you have to give in order to receive. Sometimes you have to hold your peace and let the Lord fight your battle. If you are in a poverty mindset and it feels uncomfortable it should! Because you are the son or daughter of The King of Kings and you are royalty! So take this year of change and make a breakthrough and challenge what challenges you! Sometimes you have to admit that you don't know what you don't know. So when in doubt ask the Lord for Clarity, Wisdom and Common sense. As stated in (Proverbs 2:6) For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. With that said I am going to leave you with the Willie Jolley quote I promised you. In every life there comes a time A minute when you must decide To stand up and live your dreams Or fall back and live your fears. In that minute of decision, You must grasp the vision And seize the power That lies deep inside of you! Then you will see That dreams really can and do come true And that all things truly are possible... If you can just believe! It Only Takes a minute...to Change Your Life! If only takes a minute to learn that A Setback is nothing but a Setup for a Comeback! - Willie Jolley May God continue you to hold you and bless you, I love you all - Chef Kahlil Wyche Executive Chef/President, Catering To Your Whims Executive Chef/VP, Abundant Harvest Catering Viewer Contestant,The 16 Week Challenge TV Show Voice 1.866.374.7131 or 856.383.8600 Fax 1.866.374.7131 www.cateringtoyourwhims.com www.abundantharvestcatering.com MySpace - www.myspace.com/chefkahlil Facebook - Facebook me! Living by Eagle Principles in 2009 the year of change!

Here are some very sound principles that I would love to share with you. You can adopt these principles as we take this paradigm shift into the year of change 2009! I remember reading these principles several years ago from Dr. Myles Monroe. I hope they help you stay focused and elevate both your business and personal lives to the next level.

The Eagle Principles

1. Eagles fly alone at a high altitude and not with sparrows or mix with other smaller birds. Birds of a feather flock together. No other bird goes to the height of the eagle. Eagles fly with eagles. Never in a flock. Even when Moses (Old Testament Bible) went to commune with God on the mountain, he left the crowd at the foothills. Stay away from sparrows and ravens. Eagles fly with eagles.

2. Eagles have strong vision, which focuses up to 5 kilometers from the air. When an eagle sites prey- even a rodent from this distance, he narrows his focus on it and sets out to get it. No matter the obstacle, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it. Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacle and you will succeed.

3. Eagles do not eat dead things. He feeds on fresh prey. Vultures eat dead animals but not eagles. Be careful with what you feed your eyes and ears with, especially negative people. Steer clear of outdated and old information. Do your research well always.

4. The Eagle is the only bird that loves the storm. When clouds gather, the eagles get excited. The eagle uses the wings of the storm to rise and is pushed up higher. Once it finds the wing of the storm, the eagle stops flapping and uses the pressure of the raging storm to soar the clouds and glide. This gives the eagle an opportunity to rest its wings. In the meantime all the other birds hide in the leaves and branches of the trees. We can use the storms of our lives (obstacles, trouble, etc) to rise to greater heights. Achievers relish challenges and use them profitably.

5. The Eagle tests before it trusts. When a female eagle meets a male and they want to mate, she flies down to earth with the male pursing her and she picks a twig. She flies back into the air with the male pursuing her.

Once she has reached a height high enough for her, she lets the twig fall to the ground and watches it as it falls. The male chases after the twig. The faster it falls, the faster he chases until he reaches it and has to catch it before it falls to the ground, then bring it back to the female eagle. The female eagle grabs the twig and flies to a much higher altitude pursued by the male until she perceives it high enough, and then drops the twig for the male to chase. This goes on for hours, with the height increasing until the female eagle is assured that the male eagle has mastered the art of picking the twig which shows commitment, then and only then, will she allow him to mate with her! Whether in private life or in business, one should test commitment of people intended for partnership.

6. Eagles prepare for training. When about to lay eggs, the female and male eagle identify a place very high on a cliff where no predators can reach; the male flies to earth and picks thorns and lays them on the crevice of the cliff, then flies to earth again to collect twigs which he lays in the intended nest. He flies back to earth picks thorns and lays them on top of the twigs. He flies back to earth and picks soft grass to cover the thorns, and then flies back to pick rugs to put on the grass. When this first layering is complete the male eagle runs back to earth and picks more thorns, lays them on the nest; runs back to get grass and rugs and lays them on top of the thorns, then plucks his feathers to complete the nest. The thorns on the outside of the nest protect it from possible intruders. Both male and female eagles participate in raising the eagle family. She lays the eggs and protects them; he builds the nest and hunts. During the time of training the young ones to fly, the mother eagle throws the eaglets out of the nest and because they are scared, they jump into the nest again.

Next, she throws them out and then takes off the soft layers of the nest, leaving the thorns bare. When the scared eaglets jump into the nest again, they are pricked by thorns. Shrieking and bleeding they jump out again this time wondering why the mother and father who love them so much are torturing them. Next, mother eagle pushes them off the cliff into the air.

As they shriek in fear, father eagle flies out and picks them up on his back before they fall, and brings them back to the cliff. This goes on for sometime until they start flapping their wings. They get excited at this newfound knowledge that they can fly and not fall at such a fast rate.

The father and mother eagle supports them with their wings.

The preparation of the nest teaches us to prepare for changes;

The preparation for the family teaches us that active participation of both partners leads to success;

The being pricked by the thorns tells us that sometimes being too comfortable where we are may result into our not experiencing life, not progressing and not learning at all. The thorns of life come to teach us that we need to grow, get out of the nest and love on. We may not know it but the seemingly comfortable and safe haven may have thorns;

The people who love us do not let us languish in sloth but push us hard to grow and prosper. Even in their seemingly bad actions they have good intentions for us.

7. When the Eagle grows old, his feathers become weak and cannot take him as fast as he should. When he feels weak and about to die, he retires to a place far away in the rocks. While there, he plucks out every feather on his body until he is completely bare. He stays in this hiding place until he has grown new feathers, then he can come out. We occasionally need to shed off old habits & items that burden us without adding to our lives…

“As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:” -Deuteronomy 32:11
Happy New Year to all my friends and family I love you all! May God continue to bless you and enrich your lives in 2009, the year of change, as you are taken to greater heights!
